Museum Collections Management Internships

with the

Fairfax County Park Authority


Students work with museum professionals performing a variety of collections management duties, such as research, cataloging and accessioning of historic artifacts, conducting inventory and environmental monitoring, and caring for historic objects. Students also assist with the development and mounting of exhibits and complete a written project (for example, a portion of a Collections Procedure Manual, Disaster Plan or Collections Plan, etc.)

APPLICANTS Graduate students in history, American studies, historic
preservation or museum studies
DUTIES Assist with day-to-day collections management duties and
special projects. Complete one written project to be
mutually determined by the student and Collections
Manager.
HOUSING Free housing is available for full-time interns at the Clark
