Fredericksburg, July 20, 1768.
The subscriber intending to Britain next spring; will give up to MR. William Reid on the 10th day of September next, the charge of the store in Fredericksburg, of which he has had the direction for several years, on account of Messrs. Andrew Cochrane, Wm. Cuninghame, & Co. merchants in Glasgow. He requests the favour that those who have accounts with him, may make it their business to come and have them settled as soon as in their power, that, if not discharged, the balances may be ascertained by specialty, being desirous of obviating all disputes that might arise with his successor on his transactions.
The store will be carried on to its usual extent by Mr. Reid, who is well known to most of my customers; and the same indulgence will be given by him as has been customary.
JOHN STEWART.
