The Center for Historic Preservation supports historic preservation activities
as well as the College's undergraduate degree program by sponsoring lectures,
workshops, seminars, and conferences, and by undertaking sponsored research.
The Center also administers two properties listed on the National Register
of Historic Places, the James Monroe Museum and Memorial Library and the
Enchanted Castle Site at Germanna, the frontier plantation of eighteenth-century
Governor Alexander Spotswood.
